Mary Thompson, R.N., M.S.N.

Mary Thompson is the Director of Nurses Christian Fellowship (NCF), a department of Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, and is President of NCF International. Before becoming director twelve years ago, she worked for NCF as a Campus Staff Member and Area Director in the Western and Central U.S. Her responsibilities as Director include administration, teaching, mentoring, and facilitating conferences on integration of Christian beliefs and nursing. She earned her B.S.N. from the University of Minnesota, and her M.S.N. from California State University in Los Angeles. She has published the Bible study guides Following Christ in Nursing, Lifestyle of Joy, Living in Hope, Lifestyle of Love, and Walking Through the Valley, and has also published an article, “Nurturing Hope: A Vital Ingredient in Nursing” in The Journal of Christian Nursing.

C. Ben Mitchell, M.Div., Ph.D. (cand.)

Mr. Mitchell is a bioethics consultant with the Southern Baptist Christian Life Commission, editor of The Center’s journal, Ethics and Medicine: A Christian Perspective on Bioethics, and Visiting Professor of Christian Ethics at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He has taught theoretical and applied ethics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he is a candidate for a Ph.D. in philosophy, concentrating in medical ethics. He isa graduate of Mississippi State University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has done clinical rotations at several institutions. Mr. Mitchell serves on the Board of Advisors for the University Faculty for Life. He has written widely in bioethics, including chapters in each of The Center’s books, and has pastored several churches.
