David L. StevensM.D.
Dr. Stevens holds degrees from Asbury College and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He serves as Executive Director of the Christian Medical& Dental Society and has regularly taught at the CMDS educational seminars for missionary physicians and dentists in Kenya, Malaysia and other forums. He has also served as Director of World Medical Mission and as medical superintendent of Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, Kenya—one of the outstanding mission hospitals in the Third World. He has led medical mission teams in Somalia and Sudan. His experiences provide rich illustrations for inspirational and educational presentations. He has communicated what God is doing through Christian medicine by appearing on television, radio and in the print media.
Allen D. VerheyB.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Verhey is a Professor of Religion at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. He was Director and Fellow at the Institute of Religion at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He was also an Adjunct Professor both with the Department of Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and with the Center for Ethics, Medicine, and Public Issues. He was a Rockwell Distinguished Scholar and Visiting Lecturer in Religion at the University of Houston. He is a graduate of Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary and earned his Ph.D. from Yale University. His books include: On Moral Medicine: Theological Perspectives in Medical Ethics; Christian Faith, Health, and Medical Practice; and Theological Voices in Medical Ethics.
