MEET CENTER PERSONNEL
John F. Kilner, Ph.D., Director of The Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity
In addition to directing The Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity, Dr. Kilner serves as Director of Bannockburn Institute for Christianity and Contemporary Culture, also headquartered in Bannockburn, Illinois. Extended periods of time studying and researching in Kenya, Switzerland, and inner-city Boston have significantly shaped his interests and passion for bioethics. His academic degrees from Yale University, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and Harvard University are all with top honors. He is a frequent speaker and seminar leader across the country and serves as Professor of Bioethics and Contemporary Culture at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. He has produced numerous articles plus eleven books on an array of bioethical topics.
C. Ben Mitchell, Ph.D., Editor of the Center’s Journal, Ethics & Medicine
Dr. Mitchell received his Ph.D. in philosophy with a concentration in medical ethics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has done several clinical ethics rotations at institutions such as the University of Tennessee Medical Center and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Until recently an ethics professor at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, he has now joined the full-time faculty of Trinity International University, Deerfield, Illinois, in the areas of bioethics and contemporary culture. Dr. Mitchell serves on the International Advisory Board of CBHD and is on the Board of Advisors for University Faculty for Life, headquartered at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. He writes and speaks widely in bioethics and related fields.
