Dennis P. Hollinqer, Ph.D.

Dr. Hollinger is currently Vice Provost and College Pastor, as well as Professor of Christian Ethics, at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. from Drew University and did post-doctoral studies at Oxford University. Dr. Hollinger has served as the Senior Pastor at Washington Community Fellowship Church on Capitol Hill and as a professor at Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, New York. Currently a member of the Ethics Committee at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, he is a frequent speaker in churches and at pastors’ conferences, seminaries, colleges, and academic forums. Dr. Hollinger is the author of one book, with another in progress, and forty articles on such topics as bioethics, ethics, the church, and society. He is also a general editor of the Center’s newest book series Critical Issues in Bioethics.

Edmund D. Pellegrino, Ph.D.

Dr. Pellegrino is currently the John Carroll Professor of Medicine and Medical Ethics at Georgetown University. He received his M.D. from New York University. Prior to his current position at Georgetown, Dr. Pellegrino served as the director of the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Center for the Advanced Study of Ethics, and the Center for Clinical Bioethics at Georgetown. During his 50 years in medicine and university administration, he has served as departmental chairman, dean, vice chancellor, and president. Dr. Pellegrino has produced over 450 publications in medical science, philosophy, and ethics, including a large number of books such as the Center’s book, Dignity and Dying:  A Christian Appraisal. The founding editor of the Journal of Medicine and Philosophy, he is the recipient of 40 honorary doctorates in addition to other honors and awards.
