Russell DiSilvestro, PhD is Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at California State University Sacramento. He holds philosophy degrees from Indiana University (BA), Biola University (MA), and Bowling Green State University (MA, PhD), and has been teaching at Sacramento State since 2006. From 2012 to 2016 he served as Director of their Center for Practical and Professional Ethics, and his teaching and research help support their department’s major concentration in Ethics, Politics, and Law. In 2010 he published a book in Springer’s Philosophy and Medicine series titled Human Capacities and Moral Status. Russell and his wife Heather have seven daughters and one son, ranging in age from 19 to 2.
