Discussion of the Theological and Ethical Issues Relating to Cytoplasmic Transfer and Blastomere Nuclear Transfer

These procedures are in the June 2012 Nuffield Council on Bioethics entitled Novel Techniques for the Prevention of Mitochondrial DNA Disorders: An Ethical Review (Pages 36-41). What are the ethical issues relating to Blastomere nuclear transfer into an egg? What are the similarities with Cell Nuclear Transfer? Possible moral and social implications of germ-line gene therapy will also be presented.
