Launched in 2017, BioethicsNEXT is an initiative of The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity focused on two strategic priorities in an era of boundless opportunities and needs in dealing with difficult ethical questions in medicine, science, and technology:

  • Inspiring young thinkers to courageously promote human dignity and foster human flourishing.
  • Helping pastors guide their congregations to wisely face difficult issues in medicine, science & technology.

Over the past two years, we have helped students and early career professionals to develop their skills in Christian bioethics through teaching, mentoring, conference scholarships, internships, and assistantships.

The Center has also supported pastors and congregations through hands-on workshops in common issues their congregations face, resources designed for pastors, and broader resources accessible to lay audiences. Both groups also benefit from networking and heavily discounted rates for our annual summer conference.

BioethicsNEXT is making a difference.

Pastors are gaining confidence to lead their members through emotionally intense and ethically sensitive issues.

Young professionals are connecting with others through networking, nurturing relationships, and encouraging one another to continue in the sometimes lonely—but always rewarding—engagement of bioethics as Christians.

Students are learning from the experts who “wrote the books,” being mentored by dedicated scholars and teachers and building new connections with others who are pursuing the serious study of bioethics.

Through giving towards our initiative, BioethicsNEXT, you can help equip a new generation of leaders in the church and the academy by giving us the means to continue our work in these areas.
