Events
Many of the ethical questions in science, medicine, and biotechnology are yet to be worked out and must be developed with each new technology to protect human beings and to preserve the moral values of medicine. One major undertaking of CBHD's various event and education opportunities is our Annual Summer Conference. Each year, the conference draws top scholars and professionals involved in the wide range of disciplines represented in bioethics. Conference attendees likewise represent this wide spectrum of involvement, including medical professionals, ancillary-care professionals, lawyers, scientists, philosophers, public policymakers, theologians, educators, media professionals, and clergy.
CBHD regularly sponsors and hosts consultations and public events, as well as offers strategic counsel for a variety of organizations. Guest lectures are held from time to time to generate discussion of current topics in bioethics.
