Event: Talk to the Animals: Animal Experimentation, Research Ethics and Human Goods
Special Lecture by Nancy Jones, PhD
Wednesday, April 21, 2010 3:30-4:30pm
Rodine 125, Trinity International University
Is research on animals justified and ethical? Some researchers make the claim that we need to to be prepared to die earlier if we stop animal research. Animal rights proponents claim there is something wrong with using "me in a different suit" anyway we want (i.e., in research experiments). This lecture will explore some of the recent debate and key perspectives on the moral status of animals (e.g., human dominion, animal welfare, balancing interests, equal considerations, and animal rights).
